Dental Crowns

If you need a crown, you should work with a practice that uses the latest technology and has extensive experience in restorative dentistry. At the Offices of John G. Fatse, DMD, our dentists have placed over 25,000 crowns and bridges and we use cutting-edge CEREC® technology. Find out why patients from Huntington, Newtown, and beyond visit our office in Monroe, CT, for single-visit dental crowns...

A Permanent Crown in One Appointment

Covering a tooth with a dental crown used to require multiple appointments and the use of ill-fitting temporary crowns, but no longer. CEREC technology has revolutionized dentistry, allowing dentists to design, manufacture, and place high-quality crowns in around an hour.

CEREC machines are advanced crown-milling units that employ CAD/CAM (computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing) technology. Dr. Fatse was an early adopter of this innovative system. In fact, his Monroe office was the third in all of Connecticut to offer CEREC one-visit crowns. To date, he has performed over 6,000 CEREC procedures.

To experience the quickest, most convenient, and most accurate crown treatment available, contact our office today.

Going to this office makes me question why people hate going to the dentist so much. There is never a long wait time and everyone is super friendly. I’ve never been stuck with an unexplained bill and have never had trouble scheduling an appointment. The entire staff goes out of their way to make my appointment so easy that I honestly enjoy going.

CEREC Crowns Step-by-Step

At our dental practice in Monroe, CT, Drs. Fatse and John Scovic both utilize CEREC technology to produce custom-made crowns. If you have a tooth that requires a crown, here's what you can expect during your appointment:

The same-day crown appointment usually lasts about an hour and a half.

Making You Comfortable

Our dentists will administer a local anesthetic near the affected tooth. If you'd like, we can also provide nitrous oxide sedation to help you relax.

Tooth Preparation

We will need to remove any decay from your tooth and reshape it so that it can receive a dental crown. If you have an infected tooth, you will likely require root canal therapy. We use dental lasers for superior accuracy and comfort when treating teeth.

Digital Impression

Once your tooth has been reshaped, our dentists will use the ultra-modern Primescan intraoral scanner to create a digital impression of your bite. They then upload these images of your teeth to the CEREC machine.

Crown Creation

Based on the scans of your teeth, the CEREC machine will mill a crown out of a block of premium porcelain. Our doctors will be sure to select a shade of porcelain that matches your smile. Because the machine references a highly accurate scan of your bite, you can trust that the dental crown will fit snugly over your prepared tooth, unlike the temporary crowns other dentists provide.

Crown Placement

Once the crown is ready, our dentist will bond it permanently in place and check your bite. He will make any necessary adjustments and you will leave the appointment with your new crown in place.

The Primescan Intraoral Scanner

We keep our office up-to-date with the latest dental technology. The Primescan intraoral scanner is one of the newest dental scanners on the market, and it is unmatched in its ability to capture accurate images of patients' teeth. We are proud to make use of this groundbreaking tool because it allows us to provide the best dental care possible to our valued patients.
